Things To Do In Markham
Markham is a vibrant city in the regional municipality of York within the Greater Toronto Area. Markham is an amazing place live and to hang out. There is a lot to see and there is much to do. If you are looking for fun things to do in Markham, here are a few activities that are sure to keep you actively engaged.
Do you like to bike?
If you do, then Joyride150 is a place you want to check out. It’s an indoor bike park on 150 Bullock Drive near Markville Mall. Whether you want to visit just to looks or chose to become a club member, you are sure to have a great time. They have bikes for all ages: mountain bikes, kids bikes and yes, BMX bikes as well. Helmets are also available. The offer lessons and after school programs.
Do you prefer to hike?
Geocaching, which is a cool name for the “the world’s largest treasure hunt”, is the way to go. Create a geocaching account, use geocaching.com to select a geocache, navigate to its location and share your experience. At last count, there were approximately 3500+ geocaches in and near the Markham area.
Then the Markham Museum is worth a visit. Explore the 25-acre site, visit the heritage buildings and peruse the museum’s collections. There are over 20 historic buildings and 25 acres of parkland to see. The museum connects the history of Markham to its residents today by examining the tools we used and still use to adapt to our changing world. The museum is located on 9350 Markham Road and can be reached on (905) 305-5970.
Want to get your hands dirty?
Experience the fun of social painting. Whether it is a birthday party you are planning or just a day out with the family…you know…team building, look into a painting party at Paint Lounge. Mix and mingle with other art lovers or just be quietly inspired by the creative atmosphere. Participate in their technique workshops or just freestyle it. Either way, you’re guaranteed to bring color to your life. The Markham location is at 118 Main Street North.
Just want to get some fresh air?
That’s a good thought. One of my favorite places to go for a walk is Toogood Pond, in any season, and I have the pictures to prove it. Toogood Pond is in Unionville. It’s a perfect place for the kids to work off the mid-morning cotton candy and for you to unwind. Do remember to keep yourself oriented with the map or you can come out of the daydream to find yourself wondering how to get back.

You are in the right place because of the things to do in Markham, this ranks at the top. Markham has over 22 km of scenic pathways and lots of breathtaking spots along the way to lay your hat…and mat. The natural, unmanicured woodlots, ravines, and valleys will keep you totally zen. Use the Markham Pathways Map to find these secret and serene spots to call yours for the afternoon.
Nice. Markham has you covered. Lionels Petting Farm is the place to go. It’s definitely more popular in the warmer months and is open from May to November. You can visit from January to April by appointment only. The petting farm has over 75 animals. They also have hay rides, pony rides and an indoor play area with rock climbing, tire swing, mattress jumping. When you need some rest, sit down for a snack at the picnic tables.
